Why can’t I place a trade?

1 min. readlast update: 04.02.2026

There are several reasons why you may be unable to place a trade. This usually depends on the situation. Common reasons include:

  • Insufficient margin
You may not have enough free margin to open a trade, especially if leverage is restricted.

  • Leverage restrictions
Some instruments have reduced leverage during specific periods. For example, XAUUSD leverage is reduced to 1:100 from Friday 23:00 to Monday 02:00 (GMT+2), which may require higher margin.

  • Market is closed
Trades cannot be placed when the market is closed or outside trading hours.

  • Incorrect account type or symbol suffix
Please ensure you are trading the correct symbol:

    • Cent (Rookie) accounts: symbols end with .c

    • Micro accounts: symbols end with .m

  • Logged in with an investor password
If you are logged in using an investor password, the account is in read-only mode and trading is not allowed. Please log in using your trading platform login password.
